Ariana's 1 year check up news!

Yesterday, at 12.5 months old, was Ariana's 1 year check up. Her weight was 15 lbs 12 ozs, which is a gain of nearly 7 ozs in 1 month! That's huge for her! And her height was 26 inches, which is a 1 inch gain over the past month, too. This past month we've really cracked down on the wheat free diet. Her growth is amazing, of course, but it also has a down side to it. Because she grew really well over the past month with no wheat, the likelihood of her having Celiac's disease is increased. When she was eating wheat and gluten, she was losing weight. So the pediatrician really wanted us to go get her colonoscopy and endoscopy done to test for Celiac's so that we know for sure. So we've scheduled it for the 2nd at 8 a.m. She also needs to eat lots of wheat before then, so that there can be damage to her intestines for them to find.
What a turn of events! We don't really have any stuff with wheat in it in our house anymore! And, please, don't be surprised if you next see me 10 pounds heavier. Wheat, sweet wheat, I have missed you!
Anyways, please pray that if she has Celiac's, the damage to her intestines would be obvious so we can get a correct diagnoses. And also for the safety of the procedure. She'll be under anesthesia for an hour, with 12 hours of fasting beforehand, and strong laxatives the day before. This will be very hard on her tiny body.
She also got 3 shots yesterday, but true to form she's a champion! You can't even tell. She always reacts well to shots.

Off to make lunch with REAL noodles! And REAL bread! And gain about 2 pounds doing it!
